Lauren specializes in media relations strategy for national privately-held and publicly traded corporations. With a deep understanding of national, business, financial and technology media in both New York and San Francisco, Lauren brings extensive experience managing national and international communications campaigns for a diverse range of clients. Past client coverage includes garnering visibility for clients ranging from Forbes, CNBC’s Mad Money to Squawk Box, CBS This Morning, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, Fox Business and Wall Street Journal. Lauren has led long-term, integrated corporate and financial communications programs – spanning media and investor relations, executive profile-building and thought leadership – to support business growth objectives for companies of varying sizes. Her experience spans transaction communications (U.S. and cross-border M&A, IPOs, SPACs and corporate restructurings, and other special situations. She has worked extensively across the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
Lauren joined Ogilvy and oversaw multi-million dollar corporate communications accounts, working across the Ogilvy network in London, Denmark, New York, San Francisco, DC and Chicago. At Ogilvy she managed corporate communications initiatives for several high profile companies including Wells Fargo, Intel and Molson Coors. She also oversaw several executive visibility programs, executive media training programs.
Prior to Ogilvy, Lauren was a vice president at Ruder Finn in New York, where she oversaw change management initiatives for Liz Claiborne and the company’s more than 40 operating units, including Kate Spade, Juicy and Lucky. She also provided strategic counsel to Novartis, one of the agency’s largest clients, and managed several other accounts, such as UCB and 3i.
Previously, Lauren was an assistant vice president at Financial Dynamics, where she managed the development and implementation of strategic communications programs for a number of corporate and technology clients based in New York, Boston and San Francisco. In 2006, Lauren and her team were recognized by PR Week as finalists for best financial/investor communications campaign for their work with Symyx Technologies. While at Financial Dynamics, she also served as a senior media relations advisor to many prominent corporations on a wide range of sensitive matters.
Prior to moving to New York, Lauren was a media strategist at OutCast Communications in San Francisco, where she provided counsel to senior executives on corporate positioning and messaging. Earlier in her career she worked at Ruder Finn in San Francisco and The Ingram Group in Nashville, where she managed strategic development and media relations activities for a variety of technology and consumer companies. Some of her current and past clients include Intel, Wells Fargo, Molson Coors, salesforce.com, Business Objects, Qualcomm, CBS Television, L-3 Communications, The Belgium Minister of Finance, The North Face, The Body Shop, CMT Television, Riverdance, Qwest Communications and Gilda’s Club.
Lauren earned a BA in sociology/anthropology at Guilford College. She is also received her certification in social media for business at Cleveland State University. Lauren is also the founder of Hacks and Flacks, an event that connects top-tier reporters and public relations executives in both New York and San Francisco.
