Jessica Cheney has more than a decade of technology experience managing public relations campaigns including account management, content development, media relations, digital strategy, product launches and event planning for a wide variety of industries. At CommStrat, Jessica works with education technology, B2B, and consumer companies.
Previously, Jessica was an account manager at Grayling (formerly Atomic PR) in San Francisco. She directed programs for high-visibility enterprise and consumer technology companies, including Credit Karma, Netgear and PayPal. Jessica supervised IPOs for mid-sized companies including Opower, Rocket Fuel and Velti. She also launched several startups, including SET (previously Affine Systems), Finding Rover, Optimal (acquired by Brand Networks) and PayDivvy (acquired by Higher One).Prior to Atomic, Jessica worked at Bite Communications in San Francisco. She led major initiatives for Sun Microsystems’ Java/Developer and Open Source teams and assisted in the planning and execution of the company’s JavaOne conference for several years. She also oversaw efforts for Hewlett-Packard’s corporate communications team and the HP Labs research group. Jessica supported AMD, Hitachi Data Systems and Wind River’s public relations programs as well.
Jessica holds a B.A. in Strategic Communication from The Ohio State University.
